Where to stay in Atlanta

Most of Atlanta's top hotels cluster in a downtown area with an easy-to-remember name--the Hotel District. The city's political and commercial hub, this area offers quick walking access to most major attractions. Another good area for boutique hotels and rental apartments is the ever-expanding Midtown, with proximity to most of Atlanta's big-name museums and theaters. If you're looking to save some money on accommodations, explore options in the more economical chain hotels outside downtown; from there, you can take the city's public transport to centrally located attractions and activities.

  • Church is just down the block from MLK's childhood home. I was surprised at how small it was. Solemn place where you can almost feel the strength of those who have been there before you. Stunning stai...  more »
  • Enjoy may be the wrong choice of words in the title. Perhaps Reflect, Inspired, Humbled, Reverent would be more appropriate. Regardless, everyone will take home some emotion from a visit to Ebenezer B...  more »
  • You just have to go to see this birth place of MLK's preaching. It is worth spending half an hours to see the place it started. Martin Luther King's resting place is just around the corner.  more »

  • Excellent historical site that is a dedication to Martin Luther King, Jr's family. The church is preserved in the way MLK would have seen it as a preacher there, and upon entering visitors listen to his powerful voice echoing around the congregation area. It's a powerful site.
  • This is another landmark in our country's history that has been badly preserved. This place is falling apart. They need to do some renovations to preserve history. The wall was literally falling down inside. You can look at the entire place in literally 15min. There is a video they show in the basement but nothibg else is interactive or informative.
  • I totally agree with another post that you can feel the presence of history in this church. The young preacher who does the Dr. King "I HAVE A DREAM", is gifted and annointed; he sounds just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr...to God be the Glory!!! Hallelujah !!!
  • I had no idea what to expect...i tell you now, i did not expect to hear the voice of MLK as i approached the main service room. my skin grew chills. my face began to pulsate. i wasnt ready to talk or react but i felt a knot in my throat. Dr King felt alive in this space and it took me a little while to approach the pulpit but I did... I passed by the organs and send paid my respects.. and then I sat to finish the sermon that was playing thru the speakers. The audio was amazing. It felt real. I love how this space is preserved..his gravesite is just a short walk away. I got to see both MLK and Coretta!.. thank you so much for this experience.
  • very nice experience!!! I'm happy I got a chance be inside the church!!
