We stayed in Gilmore Loop, which has paved roads and fairly level paved sites. Great location just miles from main highway to Coeur d'Alene. Very clean and well looked after. Right on a nice large lak... read more »
Nice park. Hook up are few and far between. No cell signal usually so you won't be disturbed. No TV that's any good. Quiet and peaceful. Forested,
We only stayed here for one night before we went to the campground at silverwood. I wish we would have stayed here the whip time instead. What a lovely place. Beautiful trees campsites with power. Lot... read more »
Super pricey $36. So many rules. Couldn't empty the water out of your cooler. They weren't friendly at the desk. $72 fine for dog off leash. No dogs in showers or bathrooms or beach. Leave the poor pooch at home. Id stay elsewhere. Power and water at the site which was fantastic!Fires were allowed $5 a bundle for wood. But there were 3 forest fires around Spokane and the ground was super dry and covered in pine needles. Smoke from another forest fire in MT wafted in. There was no fire check or signs. It was scary. Clean bathrooms, showers were good except the angle wasn't adjustable and they sprayed all out the door. Don't leave anything on the floor!!
We stayed here for a couple nights on our way home from Yellowstone and were pleasantly surprised. I am comparing this state park to Provincial Parks we have stayed at in British Columbia and this state park blows them all away. We stayed in the loop that began with a "G" and the sites were massive and very clean. When we found our site it had been neatly raked which made it look even nicer. The bathrooms were cleaner than the last KOA we had stayed at and the staff were all very friendly. Place seemed to have a nice family atmosphere with no loud asshats keeping you awake at night. The trails around the park are great for families to rip around on with their bikes and its close enough to Silverwood and Coeur D' alene to make it a viable option for people visiting the area. I would go back and recommend it to other campers.
Me and my friends were wanting to camp close by silverwood. We were celebrating our birthdays. My boyfriend accidentally did the wrong date online and we had to call to change it to the right date making us spend more money than planned on for a worse campground. Keeping in mind we were with 3 other couples so we wanted to stay together. The lady on the phone just rambled on about other things when I just needed to get another spot in that week we all planned on going. And when we did get there after paying the high ridiculous campsite price AND our fee for an accident, we tried setting our tents up and all of our stakes were bent and my boyfriend was livid with the fact they put us in the only sunny spot when the rest of our group got shady spots with trees. The showers were cold I didn't bother with them and the restrooms and showers were way too far away to walk. This place is a place for campers and motor homes, the campers weren't noisy at all but the ground and gravel where we had to set our tents up were NOT made for setting up tents. So don't bother with this place If your wanting to set up camp with a good old tent because your stakes will get ruined. The place is nice but all they want is your money. We will not be returning after our hard earned ruined vacation.
We stayed at Farragut State Park for the first time last July and had a wonderful time. We were there with our Airstream club and camped in Waldron Kestrel Loop. The office staff were very welcoming and helpful. We biked, hiked, went to the beach, and enjoyed campfires. The only issue we had were the yellow jackets. In fact, there was so much to do everyone wants to come here again!
Was reassured for months that the date we picked for our wedding at their covered venue would be fine and that we just had to wait as they couldn't reserve closer than 9 months out. My mother went to make the reservation only to be called back and told that they couldn't reserve due to the fact that the water may be shut off. She assured them that we didn't need water for the party and they called back to tell her construction was going to be happening and that even if that finished on time they wouldn't reserve it for us as it would be first come first serve that time of year. I had already sent out my custom wedding invitations, booked a photographer, and purchased my dress as I had been assured there wouldn't be an issue. Beautiful park but lack of correct information across the board has resulted in me having to cancel my wedding and honeymoon until I can find another venue.
