Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web
Assateague Beach features wide, undeveloped sandy shores, salt marshes and wildlife. The barrier island where this beach is located is renowned for throngs of wild ponies that roam freely. Several local companies provide horseback riding and pony tours. In addition to admiring the horses, you can take part in swimming and hiking, or you can join crab hunters and shell collectors on the seashore. You're able to try surf fishing, kayaking, and off-roading at designated places. The area provides amenities like lifeguards, a visitor center, and restrooms. Be aware that horses on the island are wild; you're discouraged from trying to pet or feed them. Assateague Beach is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Assateague Island Edition.
