  • The strategic air command museum is worth visiting with its comprehensive fleet of USAF bomber aircraft from world war 2 to the modern era. There are a few aircraft outside the museum, which is easily...  more »

  • Had a really nice afternoon at the SAC museum today! The info for each plane is pretty accessible for someone who knows just about nothing about flight, and the smaller exhibits are a nice, newer touch. I particularly liked the Women in Aerospace exhibit and the holocaust walk-through. It's nice to see a little human history beside the planes. I also had a really good experience with the flight simulators. The operator had a long line of people at the end of the day and we were his last after a few folks who delayed our turn complaining to him about their experience. He was so nice and really went the extra mile to turned the experience around for us, and the simulator was so fun!
  • Enjoyed the exhibits. Children's activity area was a treat for our grandson. Snack bar was a real surprise - healthy options, tasty and VERY reasonable. Great value for money.
  • As a pilot and a massive aviation/history buff I found this museum awsome! The historical significance of what sac meant as well as the amazing collection of aircraft are simply breathtaking! The only reason I gave 3 stars is they really need to figure out a way to clean the place better; maybe hire a new janitor... didn't bother me so much but really bothered my family! I'm sure its difficult to keep up with it but wow! How expensive is a ladder and dustmop!
  • Just love the hardware and the history. I could spend a ton of time in this place. I always manage to go with somebody who is not as interested as I am in reading all the information on the various air craft. Very neat how they let you see the restoration process of current projects. There is a small cafe if you need a break.
  • Awesome museum for someone who is a huge plane buff. There is tons to see, lots of fun experiences for the kids - simulators included. Definitely worth the drive from Iowa.
