Lithia Park, Ashland

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web
In the middle of Ashland, Lithia Park houses a forest growing along a stream. The area's high concentration of lithium oxide inspired the name of the park. Duck ponds and a Japanese Zen garden make this place particularly peaceful. There are playgrounds, tennis courts, and an ice skating rink in the winter. The park is fenced and is very dog friendly. • Hiked along the noisy creek, enjoying the sounds, the big old trees, the water dashing around the rocks. Such a wild area is a huge asset to any town and Ashland seems to seriously appreciate it.
  • Beautiful park with plenty of hiking trails. The creek runs through it and it's so pretty. No dogs allowed, but great place to visit.
  • Ducks, deer, ponds, trees, lawns, peaceful winding paths, friendly respectful people, just off the Ashland town square.
  • Such a beautiful park! I love how it's right in the middle of downtown and how the park is hugging a river. This makes the park one of the coolest spots on a hot day. There is always a constant flow of entertainers too. My wife and I always come here when we're in Oregon and plan to keep up the tradition! :)
  • Probably one of the nicest city parks I've ever visited. Lots of stone walls, tall shade trees, and places to sit. Very kid friendly with several places to play. Great place for a walk or more. If you're in town its a great place to take a break or eat lunch.
  • amazing park went to when up for shakespeare fest drove all the way to the top and back round ending up by the parking garage thing by the theaters. cool how the deer arent too skitish for pics and wild turkeys were epic to see, not even the sulfure water output thing or the mineral water with sulfar in it at the town square diverted me of the fully experience
  • Lithia park is a gem in the small town of Ashland. There are paved trails that turn into mulched trails the further you go into the park. There are lots of places to throw a blanket and read a book or relax (to all those complaining about no dogs, this is one of the reasons, there would really be dogs everywhere and the grass would not be a safe place to throw a blanket without siting in doggy poo or piss). There are also a lot of picnic tables. The Japanese garden is small but very nice and relaxing. Also, you can walk your dog along the road which winds through the park and has a 15 mph speed limit and that is a nice option. There is a reservoir towards the end of the park where you can swim.
  • Beautiful place to take kids to play, or to spend some quality bonding time with your significant other. Lots a places to wonder around! Don't forget to stop by and see the ducks and turtles!
