Grove Arcade, Asheville

(3.9/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Tour the Palladian and Gothic architecture of Grove Arcade as you indulge in a little shopping at this historical mall. The structure--designed by architect Charles N. Parker for E.W. Grove, a self-made millionaire and Asheville resident--was built in 1929 and restored in 2002. Outside, note the regal, winged lions at the north entrance. Inside, you'll find ornate, spiral staircases and the grotesques--gargoyle-like decorations that line the north and south arcades. At the outdoor Portico Market, explore the wares of farmers and craftspeople--and be sure to try some traditional fudge. • Loved wandering around in the grove arcade. The gem store was alot of fun and we got some delicious dried figs at the little market. The bookstore here was also really cool.
  • The crystal shop called enter the earth, is by far my favorite. But all of the stores are amazing and I've enjoyed every meal I've eaten there!
  • Very beautiful shopping center. I actually saw images of it and wanted to see it, but when we actually made it to Asheville, we literally stumbled inside and didn't notice that it's the Arcade until 10 minutes after walking around. They have some extraordinary stores that you just want to be in to look - clock and timepiece store, odd furniture store, European clothing boutique and others... Clean and tidy, too.
  • Nice place to walk through. Everything inside is on the more expensive side. Not really much to do but walk through and snap some pictures, really.
  • had Lunch with my wife and friends. Absolutely great. In fact, fantastic is a better description of the wonderful testing meals we all enjoyed! Compliments to the Chef and staff !!
