  • Definitely do the walk...it is easy and worth the sites. It is hard to explain the craggy gardens until you actually see them.
  • This was a nice, short hike. It was not very difficult (I'm not in great shape). When you reach a fork in the hike, do go to each side. The left side is a little longer. In November, most of the plant...  more »
  • Craggy Gardens is somewhat of a misnomer as it is a mountainside of indigenous flowering specimens so timing your visit is critical. Even without the blooming plants the views in the area are some of ...  more »

  • Great view at the end of the hike. Just be prepared for a hike all up hill. There are bathrooms located at the beginning of the trail. There are lots of picnic tables and grills. Bring your charcoal. Nice place to have a picnic lunch.
  • This is a beautiful area of the parkway. From Craggy Pinnacle, there are amazing views for miles in all directions. I have been to the pinnacle several times and the wind is always intense. The temperature is always considerably cooler than lower elevations so come prepared. Happy hiking!!
  • This garden/picnic spot was very pretty, but also a little confusing about where to go to see the gardens...
  • Sunrise or sunset are the best times to visit. The crowds of screaming kids will be low and the view is amazing.
  • Maybe our expectations were much higher. We were expecting rhododendrons to be full of flowers per a conversation with the visitors center two weeks ago. They were somewhat over so it was disappointing from that perspective, yet the hike up and scenery was very enjoyable
