Where to stay in Asheville

To take advantage of the best Asheville has to offer without breaking the bank, stay at one of the city's small motels, many of which offer free breakfast buffets and plenty of secure parking. Asheville's historical district contains most of the city's bed and breakfasts, allowing you to stay within a short walk of downtown shopping, dining, and entertainment. The area also boasts numerous budget-friendly hostels, offering inexpensive private rooms for backpackers. For something completely different, rent an eco-friendly cabin in a wooded area just a short drive from the city.

  • I visited Carrier Park recently with a group of friends for a walk of the greenway along the French Broad River. It is always great to find this kind of a greenway in a city. Carrier offers a good pla...  more »
  • Nice park just off I26 on Amboy Rd. Completely flat paths along the river. Both paved and mulched paths. Pavilion for groups/events. Dog friendly with poop stations provided. Good views of French Broa...  more »
  • I was really disappointed everyone said this was a beautiful park but it turned out to be a park with a couple of sad patches of grass. There's a big track for biking etc. It wasn't the beautiful park...  more »

  • I have had many pleasant walks along the river-side path ways here. Nice place to walk dog or spend time outside. Can do a short walk or go all the way to the end of a paved trail that connects the end of the park to another one farther out. Mostly away from traffic except for a piece of connecting sidewalk that skirts around a fenced out polluted section. If that area would be cleared and the trail joined there, I would give five stars. *I would highly recommend only going during the day time unless you are looking for trouble or shady circumstances.
  • good for dogs, picnics, playing soccer etc. nice long greenway runs along the river and connects to Amboy Park with a fenced-in dog park. love it!
  • I enjoyed the live music at the Mountain View Festival. Relaxing with a good vibe.
  • A really nice park. Beautiful places to walk, bike, or picnic. It has a great playground for the kids too
  • Great location and cool concept for a park. Sadly we were there the Sunday afternoon the shooting took place at Pisgah view apartments
