  • We are not from the area. We stopped to let the kids stretch their legs. Nice park lots of families and kids playing. I’m not sure if it’s a race track that goes around the park, but it looks like a s...  more »
  • Love walking here or just watching the river go by. Weekends this place is usually packed with people. It has a playground I take my grandkids to.  more »
  • Asheville is working hard to connect several parks along the French Broad River together creating a string of walking, hiking, picnicking and biking greenways/pathways. Good amount of free parking, no...  more »

  • We love Carrier park! Great location down on the river with tons of space to run, dog walk, or play a pick up game of Lougee ball. Amenities include Lawn bowling, softball field and even a recently refurbished velodrome along with several open fields. There are bathroom facilities as well. Look for the jungle gym, dual sand volleyball courts and roller rink inside the velodrome.
  • Great park and place to ride bike. Construction on bike track now but will be great once finished. Only 4 stars though because the bathroom is so far from the actual playground. Hard when you have little ones that need to potty right away.
  • Great park to take a break from window shopping with the family in Asheville. The playground was great and there were a lot of people riding bikes, playing basketball and just enjoying the afternoon.
  • Recently found this park. Has a lot to offer. Walking trail, wooden playground, lawn bowling, hockey rink, basketball, really to many activities to mention all! It is under a lil construction right now. We expect to visit a lot more on our trips to ashville!
  • Huge nice park on pigeon river. Melodrome is sweet
