  • One of the ugliest monuments in DC. It's in a great spot, and I mean no disrespect to the people of the Netherlands but it is hideous and decrepit.
  • The Carillon, given by the Dutch to say thank you to the American nationa and people is once again in dire need of a restoration. If nothing is done over the next two years, it will probably fall apart. Which would be a pity.
  • Best ground level view of DC - the tourbuses drive by here every day for the view, if you walk up near the Carillon, you'll get an even better one!
  • There are much more nice things around then this one
  • The Netherlands Carillon is a short walk from the US Marine Corps War Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery and it offers some amazing views in to Washington, DC. If you're in to photography then be sure to visit in the spring when the tulips are blooming.
