Where to stay in Arlington

If your trip to America's capital city doesn't include a big budget for accommodations, consider staying on the other side of the Potomac River in the county of Arlington. You’ll find a good selection of both expensive and economical hotels inside Washington, D.C., proper, but staying in Arlington county removes you from the big crowds and allows you to choose from a range of budget-friendly inns and motels. This area also offers extended-stay apartments, many located near the Ballston neighborhood's metro stop.

  • If you are staying in a nearby hotel this is a nice (clean and safe) place for a morning run. If you have younger children and need to run off some steam this is also a good place to explore. There is...  more »

  • This park is mainly made up of very nice soccer fields, but there is also a nice walking path (but pretty short) and a newly built playground.  more »

  • Nice spot right off the highway. Decent amount of pay parking but the fact that you have to pay at all is a bit annoying, not exactly in prime city spot that takes away from other businesses. Soccer fields are great, with teams for kids to adults and a variety of sports. I run through here frequently as well. 4th of July has festivities and a new playground on the south end for the little ones.
  • Awesome park. Great game fields and walking area to get some exercise done. Very peaceful and manicured and you can watch the little birds play. Great place to see the planes fly over into National Airport as well.
  • Visited here since its within walking distance. Really like the park & sports fields. Clean & a great view of the monument.
  • Great place for my daughter to run and get energy out! The park also has a fog/mister for the hot days.
  • Nice sports fields and play structures. Watched the 4th of July fireworks display. A bit far but still visible.
