Where to stay in Arlington

If your trip to America's capital city doesn't include a big budget for accommodations, consider staying on the other side of the Potomac River in the county of Arlington. You’ll find a good selection of both expensive and economical hotels inside Washington, D.C., proper, but staying in Arlington county removes you from the big crowds and allows you to choose from a range of budget-friendly inns and motels. This area also offers extended-stay apartments, many located near the Ballston neighborhood's metro stop.

  • I recently visited this memorial since moving to DC and its a great location and view. Its high up on a hill and overlooks both Arlington and Reagan airport with the planned taking of & landing right near the water. A really well done memorial for the Air Force with the spires symbolizing the core values of Integrity, Service, & Excellence, which also happen to resemble contrails if 3 jets flying upwards if you stand in the center. I posted some 360 photos from the center of the memorial so you can get a feel for what its like. Very peaceful & also a good spot for 4th of July fireworks.
  • This is the BEST memorial. I have been here during the day and the view is amazing. I have been at night and the skyline is so beautiful. I have been for Memorial Day commemorations and the program is so moving and well planned by the staff. And they do free concerts during the summer. DO NOT MISS THIS.
  • Best place in the city to get a view of Washington. Somber but joyful place. Well worth the trip - many people don.t
  • A fairly quiet memorial compared to most DC stops due to its location next to the Pentagon. 3 soaring silver spires. You have good views or several parts of Washington from here. Its faily easy in and out and worth the stop
  • A secretly cool place to visit. Not a ton of parking. Worth the trip.
