  • Fun little arch surrounded by a cave filled with sand. Families with kids will love this spot. Only a 0.4 mi. RT hike.  more »
  • Another goal easy to reach in a few minutes, a narrow stretch of sand between two rocky cliffs and a small arc ... definitely not the most popular and spectacular of the park but it's certainly a feast for the eyes!

  • It's a very short walk from the parking lot to Sand Dune Arch. It's fun squeezing through the rocks to get to it. Kids'll love it! Lots of sand.  more »

  • Sand dune arch is a wonderful place to let the kids be kids. The sand is super soft and the hike to the arches is a very easy hike
  • Awesome short walk to a very cool canyon-like area. The arch is fairly small, but you can get right up close to it. The rocks nearby are great for climbing and scrambling too. Good place for kids, although the sand would make it difficult for wheelchairs.
  • A quick and easy hike. Great for kids and adults alike. The sand is deep and very fine grained so you will probably get some in your shoes, but it's worth it!
  • If you don't have kids, you can skip this one. If you do have kids, you can spend hours here. Let them play while you nap in the sun. Or, you could scramble a little higher here, but I'm sure there are plenty of other places in the park to do that.
  • This is one of the most unexpectedly awesome places in Arches National Park. A must-visit location, especially if you have kids. It is just a short walk to the arch and is in a hidden location with deep red sand.

Where to stay in Arches National Park

Arches National Park provides camping at the Devils Garden Campground, but most visitors opt to stay in the town of Moab south of the park. You'll find every type of accommodation here, including economy motels, small inns with a rustic Southwest vibe, bed and breakfasts, lodges, and campgrounds. Moab's economy largely revolves around park visitors, so you'll find plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and various services here. A few publicly operated campgrounds line Route 128 on the park's eastern edge, and a few more accommodations sit on Route 191 off the park's western border.
