  • We weren't going to walk this trail, right. I thought it was just the headers of 2 birds of prey against each other. If you go through the looptrail under the Arch then runs due to the loose sand when heavier. Also I think because we all came many had walked. Otherwise we enjoyed not heavy trail found about 3 km

  • This trailhead begins in the campground area of the Devil’s Garden area of the park. Keep this in mind when parking! We actually parked way far away from this trailhead as we were unaware of the start...  more »
  • You can start this hike at the campground or Sand Dune Arch trailhead. We made the mistake of parking at Devil's Garden and hiking through the campground to get to the trailhead in the middle of the a...  more »

  • Fairly easy hike but not for those in wheelchairs or with strollers. Remember there is very little shade and no water available around this area. Nice arch but can get very busy with others wanting to see it and take pictures.
  • The Broken Arch trail is a easy hike just south of Devil's Garden Campground. We enjoyed seeing this arch and found the area much less crowded then at Devil's Garden, where it is something of a challenge to even finding parking space. There is a small carpark at the south end of the trailhead which proceeds around 1/2 a mile directly to the Broken Arch. You can reach it in 10-15 minute walk. From here you can return to your vehicle or continue through the arch, following a loop trail that circles through the Devil's Garden amphitheatre and back before returning to the carpark. Interestingly, the Broken Arch isn't broken at all, although it appears to have considerable wear and erosion. In some ways, it looks as it is ready to break apart - but it is not. Note: From the carpark, there is a splinter trail to the sand dune arch. It is a short detour of only .2 miles if interested.
  • Pleasant hike from Sand Dune Arch or the campground over level ground. Not the most impressive arch in the park, but still amazing.
  • A very simple but nice hike right off the campground. It's not very busy, and the broken arch is superb. We seen lots of wild life along this route, even some deer.
  • Very nice. Easy walk from the parking lot. The view is spectacular.
