Santa Anita Park Reviews
more »Is horse racing in Japan is somehow understandable perspective was so he was just. Admission is $ 5. Many had come in full dress, unlike Japan, I was surprised. Playground equipment kids can play in the square there is (Unlike Japan, large) Hall was beautiful.
Head to Rod's Grill while you're in town. You've seen it in the episode Far Away Places in Mad Men. Fun! more »
A beautiful park. Come in the afternoon and have fun making a bet or two on the horses. Great place to bring a couple of friends, have a beer or two and maybe get lucky. There is nothing like picking ... more »
Of course I love to watch the horses run!! Always lunch in the club house. The food and service is fantastic, a little pricey, $15 for a sandwich and fries, but delicious. Betting windows are either self serve or go to an employee at a window where they will help you place a bet. The in-field has room and play area for the kids and special events.
Best racing track in the West! Parking is only $4, free in the back! The grand stand features an amazing view of the San Gabriel Mountains. The vintage feel brings you back to the 1930s!
First time here and it was a great day at the track, even if I didn't come out ahead. Box seats are only around $15 on weekends. Self Parking $4, easy walk to gate, Tons of parking. Valet is $10. Buy a program for $2.50 on the way in. Club and Box seats are in the shade. Attire was everything from shorts to resort wear to sport coats. Good people watching to. Although the food and alcohol is very expensive, it is also good, with great options like the hand carved sandwiches (I would return just to have that for lunch). They also had stands in an air conditioned area for pasta, tacos, hotdogs and more. There were 9 races Sunday. Each about 30 min apart. Service was excellent and very friendly about helping out, even first time betters like myself today. Don't be intimidated, you can even bet $1-$2 if you are risk adverse.
I went to Santa Anita park for Mother's Day with my fiance. Overall, the experience was nice, there was a great selection of food and drinks along with a clean venue and friendly staff. The one thing I would suggest is to have the seating path for club members clearly labeled. My fiance and I walked around for about 20 minutes looking for the club seating and were given conflicting directions by various members of the staff. Other than that, it was a nice experience which I would gladly repeat!
Watching horse racing is so much more fun in person. The park is great to go hang out and have a drink on the weekend while enjoying the prowess and beauty of horses. Santa Anita is chock full of history too, definitely a good place to check out when you are off the beaten path of SoCal treasures.
