  • Absolutely sublime state park. The variety of cactus and wildlife here is remarkable. Awesome hiking trails around and up to Flatiron. Great views of the city (at the top) and numerous areas to picnic.
  • This state park is a popular destination for local hikers from Phoenix urban area, it is located within a half-hour drive from Mesa. The park has extensive camping area. Hiking is appropriate late autumn through early spring when temperatures are tolerable for a human body.
  • Hiking, biking and camping! Camping is well priced! Huge State park! The views are unmatched! Its in the desert so bring lots of water more than you think you need! Ther is a lot of wildlife to enjoy! As well as the mystery of a lost gold mine!
  • Great view of superstition mountains. Lots of great hikes. Take lots of water and if you are going out in late afternoon, bring a flashlight as it may get dark faster than you can find your way back. Trails are not always marked the best in a few locations, so pay attention on your way out.
  • Great hiking trails. There are gentler paths on the Northern side and steeper one straight up from the Western side. Especially beautiful when the wildflowers are in bloom.
