There is a lot to do at Pokagon State Park. There are two beaches for swimming. All kinds of boats are available for rental as are bicycles.
We love to come to this park, since it is only 45 minutes away from Fort Wayne. It is an escape from the city, and allows us to reflect. It is immaculately maintained. We love the Potawatomi Inn as we... read more »
A dentist app't caused us to be in Angola, which is close to Pokagon State Park. We were ready for a light lunch. We headed to the park. For in state cars, it cost $7 to get into the park. I asked for... read more »
One of my favorite state parks! Camping was excellent. Site was big and easy to set up. The bike trails take you by the main areas of the park and are paved. Met a bunch of nice people at the nature center. My sister and I went before opening and we able to help feed the animals. Hiking trails are great. Bike trails are great. Horse riding was good. This park has it all. We went to a free concert of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra that was held on the lawn of the lodge. The whole family enjoyed it. This is a great family campground. I highly recommend it for camping or visiting.
Just 10 minutes outside of a bustling small town, Pokagon State Park offers a relaxing getaway that is perfect for short weekend visits or long vacations. The words Peace and Tranquility do not justly describe the wonder and beauty that surround you the moment you arrive. While the beautiful nature that lives at Pokagon State Park is the best part of the visit, it's not the only thing to do while you're here. Pokagon offers many activities at extremely affordable rates. Whether you like to swim, hike, bike or boat, Pokagon has everything you need to enjoy your relaxing nature visit. My family and I have been here many times, and we will continue to come back.
This park has a very nice trail system and inn. Situated next to Lake James, the diverse land and water features really add to the unique experience here. If you make it to Pokagon, consider taking trail 1 to the nature center and discover more information on the local flora and fauna. Also, the inn is a great place to catch a Bulbasaur if you happen to play Pokemon Go :)
Best camping!!! Very family friendly! Love the beach!! The nature center is so much fun, the kids have done crafts and learned about all sorts of things. Great hiking and biking trails too!!! We come here about 5 times a year!!! Super friendly staff and DNR!!!!
We rented a pavillion for a family outing - it was nice and very inexpensive. Park manager wasn't the friendliest, but the park itself has something for everyone. The historic inn is over-run in the summer months & weekends. Stay off season during the week for a more pleasurable stay. It dies there after Labor day. Restaurant is pricey for buffet only service.
