  • While 200 feet is a pretty high waterfall, there’s not much to see with all the tree growth from the lookout point up top. For the best pictures head to the bottom of the “creek trail” and take pictur...  more »

  • This was a nice short hike. It’s a little up and downhill but made for a nice walk. The upper trail takes you to a viewing deck where you can take pictures of the waterfall. The lower trail takes you ...  more »

  • If you are looking for a quick hike with a beautiful waterfall in the end this will not disappoint. There is a $5 parking fee and make sure to bring bug spray for the mosquitos. There is a halfway point where you can look directly into the gorge rich is pretty thrilling. The trail end has a viewing deck and a shorter trail which will take you close to the creek. Went in the summer, the trail was well maintained, shaded and with some wild mushrooms all along the way!
  • One of the easy hikes. The uphill hike in the first 10 mins is probably the only 'somewhat steep' hike. Rest is all flat and the trails are wide. Nothing much to see there in the end though. In Alaska, you would see more beautiful glacier-melts than the falls here. But I enjoyed the trail though. You will get nice touch of a nature.
  • Thunderbird Falls is a short and relatively easy hike. Parking is $5. You can view the waterfall from two different places. There's a deck that overlooks the falls and another trail that follows the stream to the base of the falls. Please be careful if you hike down that trail during the winter. Plenty of people fall on the ice, some for dangerous distances. Bring bear protection in the summer. Although it is a popular hike, there have still been reports of bear and moose in the area.
  • This was a beautiful hike. If you can do it, go down to the actual water and get closer to the falls to feel the water on your face and if you are brave step into the water. It's very cold, but also refreshing. The first 100 feet or so if the hike is straight up hill, but it becomes much more gradual after that.
  • It's a great easy walk, just a a mile from the lot and can also go lower to the water. Good for kids and older individuals. Trail is wide so plenty of room to pass and walk with dogs on a leash.
