  • My wife and I had some time before we had to go to the airport so we were looking for something to do. We visited this park and were very glad we did. It is huge, has all kinds of trails. Saw a bear w...  more »
  • Need to stretch those trip numb legs! Pull out of the airport and pull in to Kincaid Park. It's that close! My wife and I made our first trip to Anchorage. While waiting for other members of our group...  more »
  • Very nice park, with the occasional army bunker to climb on. Lots of soccer fields near the 'ski chalet'. we walked around that area for about an hour, it's nice on a rainless day.  more »

  • Tons of trails to explore. We saw two female moose with their babies and two males. Be careful wandering the paths. I'd recommend allowing a significant chunk of time to explore.
  • Great facilities. Especially for kids. Fun place to go with family where you can watch airplanes land while eating BBQ and watching the bay.
  • Kincaid Park is a beautiful place. It has lots of open places for playing sports, nice hikes, cross-country skiing paths, and areas for parties and such. I highly recommend going here.
  • Like hills? They've got 'em. A variety of activities are enjoyed at this sprawling park, with two entrances. A 12 mile bike ride on the Tony Knowles Coastal trail from downtown finishes in a steep one mile climb into the park. If you are like me and and like to go in a circle, you'll keep going down Raspberry, take a left on Jewel Lake which connects to Spenard, then left again on Wisconsin and you are well on your way back to town. Always be on the lookout for moose, less common are bears. If you are cycling, courtesy use of the bell is appreciated! Kincaid park hosts a variety of activities year around - skiing, walking, running, single-track, picnicking, etc. - the trails tie into the Anchorage area trail system. Enjoy!
  • On a good sunny day, great place to do whatever plans you've got! Picnicking or walking the trail. Don't forget to bring a camera!

Where to stay in Anchorage

Anchorage hotels increase room rates during the height of the tourist season, but you can visit the area economically any time of year by choosing a budget-friendly bed and breakfast or small inn. The city's downtown area contains the priciest rooms; most are offered by chain hotels. You can find less expensive rooms at a cluster of hotels located in Midtown, a largely commercial neighborhood with a good selection of restaurants and shops.
