Where to stay in Anaheim

Anaheim and the surrounding area have over 50,000 hotel rooms, ranging from luxurious resort suites to budget-friendly lodgings in small motels. Most visitors come to Anaheim for the world-famous Disney theme parks and end up staying at one of the Disney hotel-resorts. If amusement parks aren't your thing, or you need less expensive accommodations away from big tourist crowds, choose one of the city's non-Disney hotels, offering all the comforts of home within walking distance of Anaheim's finest shops and restaurants.

  • California Adventure is a good break from Disneyland and has a couple of great rides. It's a one day park in my opinion and can easily be covered from front to back. The lines are really long for some of the rides so plan ahead and get the Fast Pass. Standing in line for Radiator Springs Racing for an hour and a half can kill that one day coverage quickly. Remember, one ride may last three to five minutes but cost you hours of standing just to get on it. Weigh your options and plan accordingly. Ariel Grotto has some great food and it's a good place for the kids to meet some of the Disney princesses. They also have adult drinks which can help get the parents through the day. California Adventure is a great place but Disneyland is still the place to be.
  • I was there with my family in February and it was great as always. I meant to write a review sooner but here I am months later and I haven't forgotten my favorite moment at California Adventure. It was pouring rain and we were trying to shelter the kids meanwhile the whole park seemed to clear out except one worker who continued sweeping the streets. You could here him whistling along like it was a perfect day. He saw us standing there and came closer and talked to us for a bit, told us some jokes, spoke in rhymes and made us all smile and laugh while he was just getting drenched. He helped make the whole trip that much more magical. His name was Chester and I will never forget how sweet and amazing he was. He's the parks own angel.
  • Fun rides, but the lines! I spent most of my time standing and waiting, and it's just not worth it to me for a few moments of fun here and there. I did have some fun in the morning with my nephew on the less popular rides while my brother stood in line for a fastpass for the Cars ride. If you go straight to those (the small ones on the edge of the lake) first thing, you can have a lot of fun with very short lines. Also, the Grizzly River Run line moves very quickly so it may be worth it to go several times and get wet to cool off during the hottest part of the day. If you're very brave you can go in the evening with practically no line!
  • Love coming here. Always clean. Always fun. Always friendly. There are plenty of dining options. Cute shops for merchandise. It can get packed on the weekends or during special events but it's still an exciting experience. Come for a little bit or stay the whole day. You'll discover an endless amount of things to do.
  • Love visiting here. It was amazing. Definitely go and get a free pin if you are celebrating something. I loved how the cast members will talk to you about it. Go and see the characters, they make the trip so much better.
