  • Love this place close to Horseshoe Curve and in a real railroading town. Lot's to see and do and and get right on some of the rolling stock. Come here several times a year.  more »

  • Great history of the area, or if you just like trains. Lots to see outside and in. The cars outside are in disrepair, would be nice to see what they look like restored. This museum is a nice addition to Horseshoe Curve, if you weren't planning on going to see it, go, it worth it.
  • Altoona as we know it, nor would many of us be alive today, if it weren't for the PRR establishing here. The museum gives some good perspective on the history of it all.
  • A great museum that shares the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad and Altoona's role during the great railroad era. The museum walk through would take about an hour to complete, possibly longer if you're more into reading up on the history and exploring the exhibits a bit deeper. The museum holds a number of great events outdoors during the summer months as well. As good if not better than any major city museum I've visited throughout the years. Worth a visit if you're traveling through town, or if you live in the city and have yet to visit. It's amazing to see this as the result of an old, unused train lot and vacant warehouse. A valuable asset to the city.
  • Cool place to check out if you like to learn and see old train stuff
  • Over priced, go anywhere else on the west slope to view trains for free!
