One of the country's oldest vacation destinations, Alta Ski Resort challenges powder hounds with demanding slopes for alpine skiing. Opened in the 1930s, the resort features over 100 ski runs spread over nearly 900 hectares (2,000 acres) of skiable area. The resort's terrain provides skiing opportunities for all skill levels, with more than half of its total area suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers. Offering much more than just light powder and steep slopes, the resort also provides year-round climbing and backcountry guided adventures.
