  • Lovely small museum. Better gift shop than the MET! Something for everyone. Convenient location and parking.

  • Went with my heart set on seeing a part of the Lloyd Wright and was not disappointed. Interesting information. It seemed more like a gallery than a museum. I was a little disappointed that the 3rd flo...  more »

  • Nice art museum for downtown Allentown; couldn't get one of the few visitors spaces, so parking is likely for the parking decks around the area. Good selection of mostly European and Hispanic history. The Allentown Symphony Orchestra members provided some tunes in the café during the summer when I visited.
  • Excellent art with low or free admission. Cafe with excellent soup and a reasonably priced store with a great variety of products.
  • Surprisingly good permanent collection founded on a gift of over 50 works by the dime store merchant, Samuel Kress. The American collection is a survey of nationally- and internationally-recognized artists with a focus on Pennsylvanians such as Walter Baum (impressionist) and Harry Bertoia (mid-20th century sound sculptor). Also of note are the museum's large holdings of textiles and the Peter Grippe collection. Grippe was an Abstract Expressionist and a member of the "New York School". The collection was a gift of his wife, Florence Grippe, on her death. While not many of Grippe's works are on display, one or two are always on display. Ask a museum employee where Grippe's work is located.
  • Great art museum. Always has interesting pieces.
  • Very good , wide range of pieces to enjoy
