  • Wind Creek is great. I don't go as often as a lot of people, but it's a really neat experience. You're right there on, or within walking distance of beautiful Lake Martin and your neighbors are very friendly. You feel safe to let your children ride their bikes to the common playground area or over to the beach area. And, it's affordable to stay there.
  • It's the Gulf State Park of middle AL.. This park gets super crowded in a hurry. If you get there at night, be very careful not to slip your trailer into the ditch. The entrance to the one way access roads are pretty narrow and finding signs telling you where your damn site is, is magical. After the hour drive around, our site turned out to be a mound and exiting the trailer was a quick downhill run. Parking your truck is a puzzle, because your trailer takes up the entire space. If you don't like kids, this isn't the place for you, our daughter had a great time at the playground with dozens of playmates. Nice place once you finally get settled.
  • My parents took me since I was small, I am 61 I have taken my kids now they are grown and now we still go and camp every year!! Both my parents are gone now but oh what great memories we have as a Family!! Love this park! Clean, beautiful,
  • Looked clean and shore line was well kept. Bathrooms could have been cleaner but I went in after the morning rush.
  • I came in tonight to camp the night before running an ultra marathon. Setup in pouring rain. I am a backpacker and as such tend to use light camping gear. I set my tarp tent up in closed configuration and got back in my car to eat dinner. 5 minutes later the mall cop type ranger (not sure if he was an actual officer) bangs on my window with a flashlight shouting at me to get out right now. I get out into the rain and he tells me (while resting his hand on a gun and wearing a Kevlar vest) that I don't have a real tent and that my tent was not "bonafide for a state park". It doesn't have a floor even though I did have my groundsheet down. Because it wasn't "bonafide" as he kept saying I must leave. He threatened to arrest me if I kept "disrespecting" him which was apparently what it's called when you honesty can't believe what you're hearing. He then proceeded to lecture me about how he doesn't believe he should have to stop at stop signs and that's is why my tent doesn't meet requirements. I got out of there as fast as I could and found a hotel room. I believe this guy will probably hurt someone eventually and when I see it on the news I will know it may be safe to return to Wind Creek again.
