  • This is great for researchers, pros and us ordinary folk too. The name says it all...it is an anthropology museum, but fascinating, well laid out, interesting and broad. You will enjoy it.  more »
  • Having been to some other museums of the same type I would rate this one average. The primary displays were on southwest Native Americans. Interesting but the collection of artifacts was rather basic....  more »
  • Great place to go , bring family or friends . Good to learn about history, Parking free on the weekend .  more »

  • First rate introduction to the prehistoric archaeology of New Mexico as seen from the perspective of the UNM researchers. However there is no mention of the Sandia Cave controversy (see Douglas Preston in The New Yorker). In addition there is a Chinese porcelain exhibition. The museum also has a temporary exhibit on English attempts beginning in the late 1700s to produce Chinese quality porcelain.
  • I love the Mimbres (and many other) pots on display, and enjoyed both the permanent and several temporary exhibits. Also, it's important to support UNM's strong anthropology faculty/department/program through their work with this museum!
  • Free admission, great exhibits, and a new temporary exhibition occurs each year
  • Disappointed there wasn't more unique artifacts on display
  • Nice
