  • Drove around and took a hike around Sand Lake. Beautiful fall day in a beautiful park! I want to come back next summer and camp. They have a nice campground plus cabins, paddle boats, canoe and kayak ...  more »

  • I've been at Chain O Lakes a number of times. Mostly, I've been there to walk or run the trails. And the trails are great as they snake up and over and down the huge ridge which creates the spine of this fine, small park. It's a hidden gem of Indiana State Parks.
  • We had a great weekend in a cabin. Keep in mind the cabins are certainly no Holiday Inn. Primitive enough to keep things interesting, with the modern conveniences of indoor plumbing, electricity, and heating. No AC. Plenty of boat ramps, since larger boats (bigger than a kayak) may not be able to get from lake to lake. The busiest lake has the kayak rentals, the others seem fairly quiet. Would stay again, unfortunately there's not a big grocery store within 30 mins so make sure you've got what you need or you'll be paying premium prices at the general store.
  • Great place to camp, hike, and kayak! I've camped at both the rally and primitive campsites and had a good experience. The main boat launch and rental is in the middle of the "chain", so we'll usually pick one side of the chain to kayak. Hiking here is great too, especially when fall colors are peaking. Glad we have a spot like this so close to Fort Wayne!
  • Nice place for camping. We go at least once a year. Clean. Nice playground for the kids.
  • I went here in a rainy fall day so, nowhere was there, only my girl and I. It was so quiet, so relaxing that it deserve to go on these dates, because you will find a peace that you could not find in summer.
