  • The original, and the substitute mailbox are long gone and now there is a replacement box that someone put there and is obviously not used by the Postal System anymore. It is now just a fun photo stop...  more »
  • Fun stop. Only did it because of the movie, Paul. It is not even the real "black mailbox." Only stop to check something off your bucket list.  more »
  • If you are into the ET highway, or Aliens, or just really cool things, this is a must stop! Very cool stuff left from folks passing by. Lots of notes left for the aliens. We had so much fun exploring ...  more »
  • If you're interested in Groom Lake and the high secrecy of the local area then this spot is a 'must-see'! Regardless of the fact that the mailbox probably belongs to the Medlin Ranch, this spot is easily accessible and fairly picturesque. It offers a perfect chance to observe why the US military decided to build a base here (you've never been further from civilisation than here!)
  • I visited here back in 2008, just so I could say "I was there". There was a sign next to the mailbox then that said stopping was illegal, government property, blah blah blah. I stopped anyways and tried to take a picture of the mailbox with my Blackberry. Right before I snapped the photo the phone shut down, and then I couldn't get it to come on again for 24 hours no matter what I did to it. That next day me and my crew got buzzed by two F-15s while we were working on a project in the middle of the desert. I guess Big Brother was watching.
  • Hey loved the tourist attraction, the only negative side to the attraction is that 'Aliens' come out the bush and anal prob you until you pass gas and rip you anus apart 10/10
  • Interesting piece of exterrestial history, Site has been severely vandalized, 2014 the White mailbox was stolen.
  • The black mailbox just stood there and did nothing. Wouldn't answer any of our questions. Just acted as if it was a mailbox. Which, of course, we all know is nonsense. But that night while camping nearby strange orange lights lit up the sky over Area 51. Awesome light show. Black mailbox had no comment next morning. He's somewhat of a snob, I fear.
