Witness the splendor of early 20th-century America at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, the country's sixth-largest historical home open to the public. The landscaped estate and its buildings, including the vast manor house, were built for F.A. Seiberling, founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. The estate now encompasses 28 ha (70 acres) with eight historical gardens and five historical buildings, including the 65-room manor house. Various tours of the estate take you from the manicured grounds through the glamour of the manor. You'll see its indoor swimming pool and music room with an organ, as well as the servants' quarters and utility rooms. Many different tours are available; you can find details and buy tickets online. • My girlfriend and I love visiting Stan Hywet during the summer. The house, gardens and events are all worth it. I'm lucky enough to get invited to their Instagram meet-ups that they just started, and it's a fantastic way to get fellow photographers to meet and explore the beautiful place. We've been going every year for the past two years and we will continue to go! Highly recommended.
  • Beautiful Christmas display in the winter, amazing gardens in the summer, interesting place. More to do there than one might think. There is a greenhouse with plants for sale, a cafe and the obligatory gift shop, which is actually worth checking out for some unique items. Great for a day trip.
  • Had a spectacular night there on Saturday. It was very picturesque when it began snowing. We had hot chocolate and their AMAZING gingerbread cookies. A slight crisp on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside. Probably the best gingerbread cookie I've ever had in my entire life. Then we went on the house tour. It was neat to take a look around this old home with all the amenities from the time period when the family lived there. It was late so we didn't get a chance to see the lights, but what we saw from a distance looked nice. Highly recommend for a night with the family or for a couple.
  • Very enjoyable evening with the family during the holiday season. Always interesting to visit the mansion and view the elaborate details of the remarkable architecture. For those with an appreciation for history, this is a worthwhile visit. For those who enjoy holiday lights, period decorations, and the warmth of Stan Hywett decorated for Christmas, this is an excellent seasonal choice. A bit pricey for a ticket at $16, so it might not be for everyone. However, on a nice evening, a 30 minute tour of the house, a stroll around the decorated mansion, and a stop for cocoa and cookies is time well spent.
  • I had not been there in years and never for the Christmas lights display. Besides the massive crowd it was a great time. Some of the house I remembered other parts not so much. The lights and decorations were beautifully done. The display setup must take a herculean effort to assemble. I will definitely be back next holiday season. Bravo.
