  • Could rush through in a couple hours with kids... or spend an entire day leisurely. Great layout, enclosures, playgrounds. Cafeteria food is excellent and reasonably-priced. No big animals (elephants, giraffes, etc), but the bears, snow leopards, tiger, lemurs, lions, and the many other smaller exhibits are great! Staff has always gone above expectations to make a great experience.
  • I love this zoo. Wife and I have been zoo members for years. It's not very big but it's great for a quick trip. They're still improving on the location every few years so I look forward to seeing the place grow.
  • Such a great zoo! Not too big, not too small. It can easily be done in a day, or if you have a family pass (which is definitely worth it), just enjoy a couple of hours in a favorite location. My kids LOVE the carousel and the otter slide!
  • I enjoyed my visit to the Akron Zoo, took about 2 hours with a couple friends to visit each of the exhibits. The staff were nice and knowledgeable about the animals and gave out some valuable information about the different species. The signs posted at each exhibit were informative about how endangered certain animals are, my only complaints is that it's a small zoo and the place was very packed. I would recommend visiting for an afternoon, good way to get out and learn some neat things about the animals in captivity.
  • This zoo may be small compared to some, but it is my favorite zoo! The animals here are lively and healthy. The exhibits are well kept and the zoo is constantly making improvements. I love having a zoo in my home town, and the Akron zoo is just the right size for young kids. You can do the whole zoo in an hour if you want to, or you can just take your time and truly enjoy all the exhibits for as long as you like. The zoo interpreters are always friendly and knowledgeable and bring activities and animal encounters out for one on one animal experiences. Oh, and the gardens are amazing! This is truly a gem in the city of Akron!
