  • Loved the cute, cozy atmosphere of the Flying Fox tasting room! Shared a wine tasting with friends and enjoyed the wines very much. Our server was polite, if not a bit too chatty. Would definitely be ...  more »
  • This was an adorable little tasting room with a great selection on wines! The tasting was lovely and the staff knowledgeable. Definitely include this spot on your tasting tour along 151!  more »

  • As far as wine goes, better than Veritas. Still great location for tasting room.
  • It started unexpectedly storming while we were running the 151, so the second we saw the grape sign we stopped in to get out of the rain. Don't let the little house and lack of vines fool you - we couldn't have picked a cozier little spot to wait out the weather in. Their little four-legged door greeter did a great job of making us feel welcome, the staff were extremely hospitable despite it being late in the day, and I appreciated how the wines were all very classic-Virginian in style. Their red table wine should be the standard on which to judge all Virginia red table wines. I hope they have the fireplace going in the winter when I come back. Most places place a lot of emphasis on outdoor seating, but I can't think of a better place to sit and drink wine on a cold day than their little living room.
  • We went to Flying Fox Vineyard this weekend, and had a great time. Unfortunately they do not accept reservations for large parties past 12, so we were not able to have a guaranteed time. With that said, we had no problem getting into the tasting room and tasting the wines. The staff was great, and we enjoyed our time!
  • What a great teeny winery in the heart of VA wine country! I loved Flying Fox. The wines are super tasty, and the "keeper" glasses are great stemless gems. There was food truck outside when we were there, selling kebabs and other stuff. Great to sit with a glass and nosh on a kebab!
  • Flying Fox was such a pleasant surprise! It was the first tasting room we ventured to on our weekend of wines, and it was definitely the best we found! The tasting room is small (tastings were $4, usually $5, and you keep the glasses) and cozy with a fireplace and a few chairs to relax in. The gal who helped us was knowledgeable and friendly. The wines were, well, awesome! We weren't able to taste the because they had already sold out, so I can't vouch for them, but we had a hard time deciding which reds to buy to take home! We ended up with a bottle of their Flying Fox Red (with mulling spices) and their Petit Verdot. Flying Fox had, by far, the best wines of the day.
