  • My family, husband and daughter and son-in-law, took a guided horseback tour with Daniel on New Year's eve day out at Ghost Ranch. We went around perimeter of Georgia O'keefe's home and Daniel told us...  more »
  • You cannot go wrong here. We, my wife and I, took the O’Keeffe Landscape Tour, a small group of people - 18 maybe with a docent, that drove around the ranch looking at various sites of Georgia O'Keeff...  more »
  • Going to the Ghost Ranch on Christmas Day was a a shot in the dark, but we hit a bulls-eye. The hike up Chimney Rock was stunning. I was totally unaware of the movies shot at Ghost Ranch (City Slicker...  more »

  • The place is superb, amazing view and amazingly well stocked library (O'Keefe yes, but also Ansel Adams and many books on other artists as well as people of the region). Horse wrangler Emma leads a great ride and tells fantastic stories. Lodging and food as you'd expect from a ranch, though fresh berries for breakfast was a nice touch.
  • We went really far out of our way to get here for some good trails and didn't find it to be worth our trip. The scenery on the ride was nicer than what we saw on the hike. It's a pretty strange place.
  • This is a really special place for connecting with your spirituality. The grounds are vast and clean and there are about 6 different hikes you can enjoy directly inside of the ranch. The service was really nice although I waited in line to pay my admission for about 15 minutes. I understand that folks want a thorough breakdown of what to expect when visiting, but I just wanted to pay and go on my merry way. The food was pretty expensive for not being so exceptionally tasty- the chicken was rather dry and the corn not very flavorful. You can tell, though, that the staff take great effort to do the best they can. My husband and I had a wonderful excursion of chimney rock trailhead and I highly recommend for the golden hour and blue hour. The hike back down is short enough so that you aren't chancing with the light. I recommend this place for a simple day trip.
  • Ghost Ranch is beautiful. I took the Chimney Rock Trail. It was moderate in difficulty with beautiful views. The highpoint was the Landscape Tour by Kate Coleman,;she is fun, enthusiastic and informative. The landscape was utterly breathtaking , and we were shown a comparison between Georgia O'Keefe's paintings and the actual physical sites. I agree with other reviewers about how place is run. We called several times about reservations and were told, "not needed". When we got to the visitor center, we were told "booked up".i don't know what to say....
  • The place I always hate to leave. Interesting that some reviewers have found the food to be poor -- this was never my experience. In fact, my sister and I always joked that the home made granola should be considered a drug we liked it so much. They try to source from local farmers. The always open library, many hiking options, swimming pool and peaceful environment coupled with unbelievably beautiful scenery is what makes this place special. If you think you're going to a resort, go elsewhere. Ghost Ranch is not intended to be that -- and I'm glad.
