  • The Eisenhower Presidential Library, in small town Abilene, is different from most other Presidential Libraries. It was founded when Eisenhower was a general during World War II and was then turned into a museum on his presidency. As a result, it is probably 80% about Eisenhower as a general and 20% as a president. The site also contains his boyhood home and gravesite. Well worth the visit if in the area.
  • This is an awesome visit....the home, the library, the burial place and the grounds are all beautifully maintained.n. The library includes Presidential and military items. Great for history students.
  • I was having a great time until the ghost of Richard Nixon jumped out of the wall and tried to dance with me. I was like, "Richard. Dude. No." and he was all like, "Sock it to me!" Weird place.
  • Boyhood home was a short but interesting tour. Make sure to catch the 20 minute video in the visitor center. It gives us under 60 folks a good recap of some of Ike's contributions. The museum in interesting, especially if you are WWII history buff. The entrance to the museum appears to change every so often, which keeps it fresh to visitors. Enjoyable museum and a nice small town.
  • The best of the presidential museums, but not as easy to get to
