  • Get a membership for the three big York museums. This is a family friendly place and the price of a normal daily ticket isn't bad at all. All displays were in order and everything was clean and well labeled. Outside you can explore the gardens and walk down to the river. There are great places to eat within 5 minutes.
  • This is a great museum! It was recommended by Rick Steves guide book and we are really pleased with how nice the museum was, along with the ruins outside. The staff was very helpful and informative. This is a great place to bring children. There is also a nice baby changing/feeding room, and places to sit through out.
  • The most exciting part is to understand about the ruins from a Roman fortifications that has beside the museum and also behind its construction.
  • Nice museum, but a little bit small. To me,the museum garden is more fun than the inside.
  • Well presented and thoughtfully put together displays on the history of Yorkshire, with nice snippets about life in Roman and Medieval times.
