You'll find four permanent exhibits of artifacts at Yorkshire Museum. The archaeology exhibit houses a collection of nearly one million objects, ranging from prehistoric times to the 20th century. Among them, spot the York helmet, the Gilling sword, and a head of preserved Roman hair. In the astronomy exhibit, visit the 19th-century observatory and a clock that tells the time based on the position of constellations. A biology exhibit displays preserved specimens of animals, plants, and fungi, including specimens of extinct species, such as the passenger pigeon and the Moa. Marvel at the collection of minerals, rocks, and fossils in the geology exhibit. Outside, wander through the museum gardens. • A little pricey to go as a single entry but worth it on the card. Has improved since last visit because of the Horde exhibit
  • Getting to this museum is half the fun. Just outside is St. Mary's Abbey, which is the most interesting ruin you'll ever discover.
  • Beautiful gardens to have a walk around. Makes a nice visit to the museum complete.
  • Very nice museum, recently refurbished. In very pleasant park. Very good Roman displays, nicely presented with big video screen (which broke, I hope it's under warranty). Downstairs is display on York from 10th-19th centuries. Also, a bit out of place, are some rather sad stuffed animals and skeletons - old school museum stuff this.
  • Blar blar blar weeeeeeeeee (AWESOME)
  • Good general museum.
  • Decent museum, but a tad expensive
