York Maze, York

4.6
#2 of 15 in Theme Parks in Yorkshire
Navigate a giant corn labyrinth and play other farmland games at York Maze. The venue plants over one million corn stalks each year over an area spanning more than ten soccer fields, leaving paths that form a maze as the corn grows. As you navigate the labyrinth, try to solve Kernel Kernel's challenges to win prizes. When you're finished, hop aboard a tractor-driven trailer to help keep "crows" at bay. You'll get wet on this ride, so wear appropriate clothing. The site also offers a "cobstacle" course to negotiate, hay-bale pyramids to climb, a maze of illusions to witness, and many other attractions. The Yorkshire Dragon BBQ serves locally sourced, grilled food. Remember to wear suitable footwear around the site because you'll be walking around a field. The maze is a seasonal attraction open in July and August; check for exact dates in advance. Discover how to plan a York trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.

  • Hallowscream York Maze! Thought it was expensive when booking.....WORTH EVERY PENNY! Runs from 13-31st October! Looking forward to next year! Bit of common sense required here. They DO go out of their way to make you jump and there are strobe and thick smoke effects used throughout. But if you can deal with those and loud noises and the occasional jump scare then I can't recommend it enough. If you go with the attitude that "it won't scare me" then don't waste your time and money. It's all about being entertained with a twisted sense of humour. Leave egos at home and just enjoy. Wouldn't recommend for small children. My two are 12-14 and loved it. Very helpful staff and incredibly friendly....In an 'undead' kinda way.
  • Fantastic day out, lots to see and do. The main attraction is obviously the huge maze. Make sure you leave plenty of time to go through it as it is easy to get lost in there :D Lots of other attractions and shows, which can make it a full day out for you and your family.
  • Loved the place, loads to do for the young and old. Don't worry about get too wet on the crow ride if you sit at the back you only get a sprinkle of water. Good quality food and drink. Staff very friendly and happy to help if anyone had any problems. The facilities are really clean and tidy. I had a great birthday their. Looking forward to coming back. Also only 20 minutes to York city centre very easy to get to.
  • Excellent (bring wellies!) Kids had a great time here. Lots to do, great staff. If it's wet, being wellies as it gets very messy! The extra Halloween bits are great, too.
  • Been twice now and if anything it's got tons better. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The maze is always fun and enhancing. Overall I would definitely recommend, people say it's overpriced the food so it's a lot cheaper to take a packed lunch! 🤗😋
