  • We have enjoyed every minute of visiting the museum today. I love museums that offer children in for free, I was a child when I first ever experienced the museum and I never forgot it. I've always wanted to visit again and today I did with my own children. The staff were so friendly and helpful. There is so much to see and do.
  • Absolutely fantastic day out. Lots of interesting things. My favourite was a street from the past with fantastic little shops and a real atmosphere of old times. The sounds and smells made you feel like you've gone back in time.
  • A very good museum. Love the old hobbled street and weaving in and out to find all you can. The kids really enjoyed it and it offers a nice bit of nostalgia for any 70's 80's or 90's child too.
  • YORK MUSEUM OF HISTORY would be a much more accurate title. "Castle" I am sure misleads many people but probably increases the number of visitors. It was well done and interesting for the price paid. However if I had wanted a Castle experience like "Windsor Castle" I would have been terribly disappointed. One and a half hour visit... and we were ready to leave.
  • Amazing place we have been 7 times last year and probably the same this year. They also have a lovely cafe were you can get a decent drink and snack, I think they also do large meals.
