It is a hotel with a history that began 300 years ago and today the convent was transformed into a Museum and Guest House. For those who besides staying want a different place, with very hospitable staff, breakfast very rich and history to enjoy... This is the appropriate place. There is an exhibition of the history of the place and a beautiful chapel to pray or simply admire. We enjoyed the stay because the staff is people who want that place, therefore leaves the best of it. I recommend it without a doubt.

  • What a gem of a place , just at the city gates , it's a working convent dating back to 1686 the rooms are spotless a very good hospitality tray , the breakfast is wonderful and the staff were very helpful and friendly it's quirky and we live it and will definitely be coming back , this afternoon we had sandwiches and a drink in the gardens so pretty and tranquil so pleased that we found this place and only 300 yards from the train station
  • handy location. little noisy during the day. hotel itself very quiet
  • Stayed here during a visit to York. The location is convenient to both rail station and central city sites. Staff were unbelievably kind, helpful and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again
  • Brilliant as it's only 10 minutes walk to The National Railway Museum, not too far to the city centre either and such a nice relaxing place to stay. Downside is no onsite parking but there is a car park just round the corner ( Nunnery Lane) £12 per 24hrs, just renew online with PayByPhone app on your phone. Just remember when comparing prices to add £12 per day for parking to equate.
  • I was here for a workshop and what a wonderful place to have one, the building is just lovely and the coffee shop was a real treat would highly recommend
