  • We decided not to go inside, but it's still worth a look even just from the outside as it's very well preserved building. We also had an added extra with ducklings in the grounds.  more »

  • Not the oldest, but perhaps the best preserved and most impressive medieval timber framed building in York. Must see the inside.
  • My first impression - the beautiful old building was standing on land so much lower than the pavement outside. Great illustration of how the centuries are built on layers. Just standing inside the Great Hall and letting the energy flow over you is an experience to be treasured. We had an amazing lunch afterwards at The Hairy Fig, situated behind.
  • Studding building and architecture. A warm and friendly place to hold your function.
  • Such an amazing building!!
  • Very nice place for small weddings
