  • We've bypassed this before as an event was on, but decided to visit this time. The grounds, off the main road, are well maintained and tranquil. The staff were welcoming and the interior well maintain...  more »
  • A classic historical building with a relatively interesting story. The building is great to look at but after 20 minutes listening to the very slow speaking audio guide you'll have seen the three room...  more »
  • We visited on a day when there was a RETRO market, so it was as full of folk as perhaps it was in the past when the Guilds were strong...what a great use of the space, and the cafe was good value too  more »

  • What a gem of a place, great quality information on the trading history of York..interesting to see the marks on the wall showing how high the flood water came in 2015..great timber framed building.. Not to be missed...
  • Lovely cafe. The Hall itself was very interesting. I must have walked past so many times without really noticing it. Worth the entrance fee.
  • I had the pleasure of visiting this place for my pre graduation celebrations. This place is beautiful, especially for my graduation pictures. It was a scorching hot day and because the hall is so old there was no air conditioning but also no fans were provided so I was particularly sweaty in my cap and gown which was reflected in my pictures which were expensive. I dont think I'd visit as a tourist thing, although our friends did recently and they really enjoyed it. I guess it depends what you're into.
  • Beautiful location for events would highly recommend
  • Beautiful building. Great coffee at Cafe no.8
