  • Only the second art gallery I've visited in my life. The first was in Reykjavik as part of a tour that I couldn't really get out of. I don't generally understand art or appreciate it and to be honest ...  more »
  • The Harley Gallery is just wonderful. Iz and I were looking for an apple tree to plant so swung in here not knowing it had a nursery but going for pot luck. Pot luck indeed, not only did it have a par...  more »
  • Lovely helpful staff, and a nice display of Warli art work. Staff more than happy to explain meanings of paintings and produced a "where's Warli" worksheet to keep the kids focused.  more »
  • The Harley Café: sets the gold standard for cafes. Superior quality to most restaurants. Eggs benedict with a choice of ham or salmon, from the specials board. Cooked to perfection. Presented simply. All ingredients of a very high quality. The service was outstanding. I wish I could rate you higher. You deserve to do very well ... open a chain, please.
  • Nice gallery. We went to a Lego exhibition so was v busy. Nice garden centre there too with decent cafe.
  • Provides regular exhibitions of art, historical interests, crafts and many other areas of interest, and it's free.
  • The gallery is a bit of an unexpected gem. We visited for the first time with our two small ones for the Lego exhibition they were holding. The building itself is an impressive relatively new structure built with lots of thought to the historical location within the Welbeck Estate. This really pays off inside where the galleries are well lit and of a decent size, though by no means huge. We especially liked the vault like doors on the lower floor gallery room, they had some real clout to them! It was busy on our visit as it was half term and the exhibit was aimed at children, but there was enough room to mill about. The staff were pretty helpful and I guess due to busyness, you didn't get that feeling that you can do in a quiet art gallery of being constantly observed! The attached cafe looked to be service some rather tasty sounding food, but it was very hectic so we headed to the garden centre next door.
  • An awesome place to spend a few hours. Take the kids. It's free
