I Visited the Raptor Centre free today after staying in one of the lodges last night.Interesting place with lovely birds and cute meercats plus fish reptiles and other exhibits.
I was given a Falconry Experience day as a present for my birthday from my wife. I will try and put into words my experience with the foundation. We were introduced to Dave, my falconer for the day. H... read more »

Met and fed the meerkats - excellent experience would recommend it. The meerkats were very tame and curious - they love Velcro and spent a lot of time trying to unfasten my trainers. The centre is nice and contained and the owners and staff are very friendly. Well worth a visit.
I stayed at the Raptor Foundation along with my sister whilst visiting a family friend over from australia and long awaited reunion with our dad. We travelled through the early hours of the morning on thursday (3am) and arrived at the centre by 10.30. Unaware you couldnt check in until 2pm we asked to check in at 11 to have a quick power nap before heading out!! The members of staff were amazing right from the start!! - Nothing was too much trouble....we were in our room by 11.30 after a complimentary drink in the cafe. Absolutely wonderful!! The room was brilliantly done, with a small kitchenette and gorgeous bathroom!! I forgot to right good feedback in the book provided in the room, but i wish to recommend this place to everyone that is thinking about booking!!! Fantastic staff, fantastic facilites!!!! 5*!!! Will definitely be staying again!! Thank you so much!!
Some lovely birds
Had a great day out with our 6 year old. One of his favourite trips. Particularly good were the flying displays and when the kids got chance to have an owl land on their hand, gloved of course. The cafe was a bit slow serving drinks and food but reasonable once you got it.
We enjoyed this place a lot. It has various owls, Harris Hawks (the only social raptor!), Bald Eagles and an African White Backed Vulture which are just amazing to see up close. There are flying displays during the day and a small cafe for refreshments. If your child is loopy about animals like mine are then definitely worth the money.
