Marwell Zoo offers you the opportunity to see wildlife up close and help save endangered species at the same time. In the 57 hectares (140 acres) of exhibits, view over 1,200 animals across 235 different species. Snow leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, gazelles, crocodiles, lemurs, and many more make their homes in enclosures that recreate their natural habitats. Follow one of the woodland trails to see small, local animals in the wild, and sit in on an expert talk about one of the zoo's species. The proceeds from your visit--including admission tickets that you can purchase online--support the zoo's conservation efforts in the UK and abroad. • I love this place. My wife and I haven't been for a few years so decided to treat ourselves seeing as the weather was good. Arrived a couple of hours after opening to avoid possible crowds, breezed through and had a relaxing stroll around in the sunshine. It wasn't to busy so that made it pleasant as we could stop and really take in the surroundings, animals and information on offer. The new tropical house is brilliant. Lots of interesting birds, reptiles and fish. The info and scientific parts were fantastic. Also, there's a massive new outdoor enclosure for the rhino and zebras which gives you great views of them roaming. Overall, the park is spacious, clean and staff are friendly and helpful. If I could come back every weekend I really would! Highly recommended
  • Marwell Zoo covers a huge area which makes it pleasant to visit even in the busiest time. They have a huge car park with many spaces for disabled. Few toilets and gastronomic points make it easier for parents with younger children. Very interesting animals like Cheetahs, Snow Leopards and 7 giraffes. Few enclosures were not fully functional but I suppose they're going to prepare it for season. Personally I highly recommend Marwell Zoo as iťs not too crowded due to its area.
  • Love the little rail train reasonably priced too, nice way to see the zoo we ran out of time to do the land train but it looked good too. The fact they have inside picnic area is fantastic and plenty of areas to picnic. We had lunch in the cafe which was average would take a picnic next time. Liked seeing the animals and you can see they are making changes and development!
  • Beautiful park and so well thought out. Animals appear well looked after and have plenty of space. For the public there are many play areas, picnic areas ( some with an under cover area ). Plenty of places to sit and rest. As for exhibits, all great and well designed. The Tropical area was great. Recommend Marwell to everyone.
  • It was a good place to go with children. There are different species of animals that we don't normally see or normally the children would not know. There are also cafe with great view and delicious food. Good services and the staffs are very friendly. There is picnic area so you can pack lunch if you want and eat in the picnic area. Kids were running here and there and they had so much fun eating at the picnic area. They also have a section for reptiles and also tropical area where you can enjoy being in a tropical forest. The birds chirping, the sound of the waterfalls and viewing different variety of tropical trees. The kids loved this section. There are other aviary. Colourful birds. Don't forget to view it. There are play areas for older kids from 6 - 12 but I did not try it. It sounded fun. There are other playing areas too. They have science learning stuff which we didn't go because there was no time. If you like to visit with children, go as soon as it opens, so the kids can enjoy looking at each animal without any time restrictions.
