We found it and took a photo from the road. You can walk to it and it is a pretty location....but we couldn't find a proper car park, only a small area of huge bumps and pot holes! I don't know why we...  more »

OK, so it's not Stone Henge... but it has a very similar feel and, my word, what a pretty setting and local village. TOP TIP: GO ON A SUNNY DAY, DRIVE UP PAST THE GIANT'S REST PUB, TURN RIGHT AND FIND...  more »

The lime figure is ok, but mainly a tourist attraction. Who going there by car drive, there may be a few spots, not so far from the man parking and then walking in the downs alongside the man. Beautiful surroundings. Also recommended: in front in the street there is a nice Inn: the giant's rest. Who want a small lunch in the afternoon, there's fresh soup, there are sandwiches (with Board tasty lettuce ...) and it is super friendly! Also a nice glass of ale is going well. But not this time, because riding the engine ... you just stay sober, point.

  • AVOID IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OR FOOD REQUESTS After 4 months of visiting the Long Man we found out there is shrimp paste in their curries. Every time we ordered we had the bar staff add into the comments: “Vegan - No fish sauce or animal products." Apparently the kitchen staff never bothered to look at the ingredients they put in our food. For those with shellfish allergies or who are vegetarian / vegan this is unacceptable. We e-mailed management and instead of apologizing or explaining how this happened for so long they suggested we come back. Considering we can’t trust their kitchen it’s unlikely we’ll ever return. I would expect any kitchen to know or at least check what is in their food. As regulars finding out how little effort they put in was a big disappointment. (1-2 visits per week) There are too many fantastic restaurants in Brighton to take our £’s to the Long Man. (Ladies Mile Pub and Sri India nearby are much better)
  • This pub is a 'local' boozer. Has Harvey's ale and guest beers alongside the standard brand lagers - you can get a decent pint here. Prices for beer don't seem out of the ordinary for Brighton. TV seems to always be on showing football. Can't comment on the food as I've never eaten here. Friendly staff and comfy atmosphere.
  • The roasts at The Longman are amazing, been going for years. I think the drinks should be cheaper, but then it is always busy at the weekends, so why would they? I would rather pay a few extra £ for good food than save and risk disappointment. Worth a visit.
  • Great Sunday roast would recommend it to anyone. Very nice atmosphere and service was great.
  • Great food, beer and atmosphere. Dog friendly
