  • You do need a good hour to see everything. The lady who worked there was very knowledgeable and helpful, If you can, go outside and up the steps, there are anchors and a good view of the harbour.

  • Brilliant attraction staffed by lovely, enthusiastic volunteers. We popped in for what we thought might be a brief visit and ended up in there for hours chatting about all sorts with the team. They have obviously put a lot of time, effort and energy into the museum and it really shows. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in the area. Our guide, Lyn, was very pleasant and did a great job giving us the tour and answering questions
  • Lots to see, read and learn. Delightful staff, very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit, well worth going
  • Superb museum detailing the history of the various aspects of life in the area. The Herring fishing industry made Wick the greatest in the world, and with it subsidiary industries like rope + net making. A record 24 million fish was gutted by 3,000 women on 23/8/1864, which averages at 10 fish per minute for each female worker. Other areas of interest are Caithness Glass, other Maritime aspects, and agriculture.
  • The Wick heritage museum is well worth a visit ,it is so full of nostalgic memorabilia, the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the museum. photography is not allowed but pictures of some of the displays are on sale which I think is very reasonable due to costs of keeping such a wonderful place open for everyone to visit 😊 the pictures I was allowed to take were at the top of the stairs in the garden area by a 10ft high anchor , put your walking boots on ,there is so much to see!
  • Little gem, proper tardis. 2 hours went so quickly! Could easily spend all afternoon there.
