  • It is best to visit the castle when you are passing through. There is no need for planning here the whole day, well, unless someone has the urge. The castle is as if on water, in which around swimming white swans. Often there are special events.

  • Good example of a well maintained ruin. In a pretty village in a lovely part of Shropshire I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, unless I was a ruins collector, but worth stopping by to check it out. There's a large car park next to it and I've seen RVs parked there overnight. If you're on a canal boat, the water's not too far away and there's a nice pub in the village to refresh you after the hike from the water.
  • We had such a great day trip with school here. The kids loved it. Love the gift shop here such value for money. Lovely cafe too. Very well organised establishment. Highly recommended.
  • I really enjoyed my visit, It's a little treasure, Ample parking spaces in the car park, Only costs £1 to park and this money goes to help fund the maintenance of the Castle and grounds, Let no one forget that this Castle is community funded and what a fantastic job they are doing.Really liked reading the information boards, There is also an info board in what was once Lady Eleanor's Pleasure Garden, Which directs your view to where an Iron Age Farmstead once stood, you can still see disturbances on the land from where it stood. There is a nice Tea Room, Coffe was lush! The staff are lovely & Friendly, Same said for the shop next to it, there is a glass covered Well in the book shop where you can ask for it to be lit up so that you can view inside.
  • Not too much to see, especially in winter where the cafe and information centre are closed. But a nice place to stop and have a leg stretch.
  • Not as much to see as the road side facade might suggest. It has a little cafe on site which serves tasty cakes along with the standard array of beverages and ice creams. There is a £1 charge for the car park. If the machine is out of order you can pay in the cafe. Won't take long to see everything, so if you want to kill more time and you have youngish kids with you, there is a play area in short walking distance. Head out of the car park entrance over the more and onto the pavement, you will see a path immediately on you left. This takes you to the little play park.
