  • Each floor has its own specialty. Information is given to geology, nuclear power - now and in the past, how whitehaven grew and what industries influenced it's growth. Also great for kids.
  • Visited with neice and nephew who loved the experience and the different exhibits. Plenty of hands on building, and interesting things for kids to do. Lots of history too. We went when the Lego and 3D...  read more »

  • Great town museum exploring the history of Whitehaven over the centuries. Also has a whole floor dedicated to a fascinating interactive display about the nuclear industry at nearby Sellafield from the early days of atomic weapons research, civilian nuclear energy and nuclear waste management. Well with a visit. You get good views of Whitehaven harbour and town from the viewing gallery too.
  • Kept us entertained for an hour on a rainy day. It's like a mini museum of Whitehaven /indoctrination centre for Sellafield.
  • A nice place to take the kids during the holidays. Plenty to learn and fun to have. Also has a cafe which serves good food and reasonable prices
  • Always manage to spend a fun 3 hours easily. Reception lady lovely.
  • My kids are regular visitors to the Beacon, they find it interesting and love the interactives, after wandering around we love nothing more than to finish up with an Ice cream Sundae in the Wellington Bistro and Cafe,
