Nothe Fort, Weymouth
Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Once an important stronghold in World War II, Nothe Fort remains one of the most well-preserved forts in England. Spread over three levels, the museum houses standing exhibitions of Weymouth’s naval history and of World War II. Wander to the top level and out to the surrounding gardens for views of Portland Harbor and the Jurassic Coast. Parking is available, although the fort is only a 15-minute walk from the town center. Take a rowboat from the harbor to the fort for a chance to explore the nearby beaches and enjoy views from the water. A visit to Nothe Fort represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Weymouth trip itinerary builder to plot your vacation.

What a great afternoon! We came here due to some poor weather on our holiday and had a great time. At first I was a bit concerned that there wasn't much to see but you could get lost in all the different rooms with displays and scenes from the war. They have a 'homemade' feel about them, even putting some old action men figures to use, but it was all quite charming. It would be a great place to take children who I am sure would find it all really exciting, especially the ghost corridor! I would definitely return in the future.
every visit to weymouth we always fit in a visit to the nothe fort , never get sick of going if you've never been get yourself there you will not be disappointed , plus can you find all the mice lol
Used to be down in Weymouth every other weekend as a kid, and by far my favourite place to go was Nothe Fort! Great place for all ages and brilliant views over Weymouth itself.
Never knew this was so good. Magnificent views, superb Museum covering many aspects of Weymouth's history. Shld be one of the major attractions in the town.
Worth a visit. You will be surprised how long you can spend here
