Brooklands Museum, Weybridge
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Brooklands Museum presents a slice of British motoring and aviation history on the site of an original 1907 motor-racing circuit. This historic site includes four heritage-listed buildings, large hangars, and preserved sections of the old racing circuit. Visit the site to see a wide range of exhibits, including race cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. Arguably the most impressive feature of the museum’s extensive collection is the Concorde G-BBDG, the first aircraft ever to carry 100 people at twice the speed of sound. The museum also owns a Vickers Vimy replica, built in America in 1994 to re-enact and commemorate the world’s first transatlantic flight. Check online for the Concorde tour times and other Concorde-related special events. Such a pleasant visit. Informative. Lots to see and experience. Really worth a visit, even for those who do not like the museum scene.
Grete Place and very attractive events - we cant wait to be there again for Supercar Sunday, this time with our new Maserati 420 special-edition Super Monoposto ! We hope to see everyone soon! #BestOfItalyRace
Really interesting well maintained motor museum. You can easily cover all the ground in an afternoon. It's not just a car museum there's a whole exhibition on the history of London busses, a Concorde that you can go and look around (although this is extra) and a great exhibition showing you the inner workings of aircraft engines.
Lovey weather for a day out. Surprisingly quiet. Lots to see and do. Plenty of aircraft to explore and board including concorde. Additional fee to board concorde and be taken on a half an hour tour around the plane very good experience. £5 per person to board the plane. Lots of history about Brooklands including several workshops in period theme with display vehicles and aircraft inside.
I really enjoyed my day there. A fascinating place well worth a visit. It's the only way you will be able to go aboard the Concorde now so worth it just for that. Many commercial and military aircraft to can go aboard and a huge selection of motor vehicles to see. Very interesting and the volunteer guides are very knowledgeable.
Love his place; such an amazing history. Very extensive collection of aero and motor history. Good, if not expensive, food
