  • This is just a stone's throw from where I live and is a gem in the industrial heartland of the West Midlands. We particularly love the mile long walk around Swan Pool and also the mile and a half walk...  more »
  • It's been years since I've walked through the park top to bottom. I'd forgotten how lovely it is. With a sensory garden, a very large well equipped children's park, lakes, a go-ape type park, crazy go...  more »

  • Bought my visiting mother to this beautiful green oasis in what is an ordinary town. You can hire a cycle, use sports court or just wonder around aimlessly and discover. We headed for the farm shop but this has been transferred to the working farm at Forge Lane (nearby). The farm animals were delightful and engaged many children. The little cafe has a lovely outdoor space that leads to the Victorian Kitchen Garden spilling with fruits and vegetable. Great to while away half a day.
  • Some friends had recommended this park to us as being a nice relaxing park to have a walk and take in the scenery. However unfortunately we didn't like it at all - it was absolutely packed (ie no spare ground to sit down anywhere) with loud, half-naked, people, young and old 🙈 Many were smoking, had fires and barbecues, and were swimming in the 'lake', despite all of this being prohibited on multiple signs everywhere. A lot were playing loud rap music too. We tried to have a relaxing walk in the shade and lasted 10 minutes before deciding this definitely wasn't the place for us and left for somewhere else we know to be quieter.
  • Wonderful, pleasant day out for the family. Lots of parks to choose from. Lots of field space. Sometimes they have a fair on for little children. Lovely big duck pond and brilliant farm with children's maze. We frequent Sandwell Valley park a lot and all our 4 children enjoy the day out from ages 17 - 2. Only thing I'd suggest is some signs on the duck pond making people aware that bread shouldn't be fed to the ducks for health reasons. They sell a big bag of duck feed at the farm for £1.50.
  • My fave local place to take the kids. So much to do, regular events on that are fab, we visit here whenever the weather is nice and spend the whole day. Parking is reasonable too.
  • Large play area & pleasant walks or rides. Something for everyone there is also a small fair to keep kids entertained. Snack bars are also well stocked & have a good variety to offer.
