  • Had a great day at Melsop farm. We enjoyed talking to the owners whilst petting the rabbits. Many of the animals are out of their pens, roaming freely. Whilst this might put some off, I thought it just added to the appeal as it felt like an authentic farm. When I saw the chickens clambering around inside the pig enclosure, I thought it could have been a scene straight from Charlotte's Web! Great fun!
  • Ive been visiting Melsop regulaly for two years with my young children. I am a great animal lover and can say that not once have i visited and felt that any of the animals are mistreated or unhelathy. We have just had our sons 5th birthday party here and it was amazing! Him and his friends all loved it - the staff were all so helpful and made his day very special and all the parents who came absolutely loved the place and I know will be returning. I will not go on - i feel some of the recent reviews are very unfair! Just take your wellies as it is after all a farm with a bit of mud!!!! Pay them a visit and make your own mind up dont believe everything you read!
  • Took our 4 year old daughter here Saturday afternoon. Went there to have a look around as considering having a birthday party there. We happened to have gone there when there was already a party in full swing. Overall looked a mess. There is a reindeer there who looks like he has massive tumours growing on his antlers and head, they all looked like they were struggling and not at all happy. Apart from some very friendly goats who were super cute the place is really dirty. The animals looked like they had been neglected, especially the poor reindeers. The pig sty (and yes we know they are pig sty's) but they looked like they hadn't had fresh straw let alone the mess cleared up for a good week at least. The indoor area for the children to play in looks tired, boring and not at all entertaining. The only part of the whole place we can say that looked clean was the toilets and even they weren't that clean but was a lot better then the whole place in a whole. Extremely disappointing and we shall not be booking are child's party here!!!! Only reason we have given it 1 star is it will not allow you to post a review unless there is at least 1 star clicked on.
  • This place needs closing down. The animals are starved, sick, injured, uncared for and the owner couldn't care less. As a family, we were all sickened and distressed at the state of the animals. There was blood everywhere from injured starving pigs and piglets, rabbits kept in cramped, filthy cages with no water, food or access to sunlight with their dead and dying young decaying in the same cages, reindeers with huge tumours bleeding over their eyes, the list just goes on and on. The owner has been prosecuted before and found guilty, the RSPCA and the Local Authority have written numerous improvement orders, but it never stops this owner from mistreating the animals. Please, avoid this place at all costs, it's just awful. If I could have rated Melsop Farm negative stars I would have done so.
  • Distressing horrible place animals kept in squalid conditions and a lot without water (in this heat!) Avoid this place at all costs and if you do go catalogue the abuse and report it to the RSPCA.
