Lovely place to visit. Took my children and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Have visited a lot of places that were less welcoming.
I took my four year old granddaughter to the farm. She had fantastic time getting close to the animals. She enjoyed holding the chicks and rabbits as well as feeding the goats, ducks and geese. The pl... read more »
Took our 4 year old daughter here Saturday afternoon. Went there to have a look around as considering having a birthday party there. We happened to have gone there when there was already a party in full swing. Overall looked a mess. There is a reindeer there who looks like he has massive tumours growing on his antlers and head, they all looked like they were struggling and not at all happy. Apart from some very friendly goats who were super cute the place is really dirty. The animals looked like they had been neglected, especially the poor reindeers. The pig sty (and yes we know they are pig sty's) but they looked like they hadn't had fresh straw let alone the mess cleared up for a good week at least. The indoor area for the children to play in looks tired, boring and not at all entertaining. The only part of the whole place we can say that looked clean was the toilets and even they weren't that clean but was a lot better then the whole place in a whole. Extremely disappointing and we shall not be booking are child's party here!!!! Only reason we have given it 1 star is it will not allow you to post a review unless there is at least 1 star clicked on.
I love Melsop Park Farm. You can spend the whole day there and the staff are very helpful. I've heard people say it's a little untidy but people.........it's a farm! What do you expect.
This place should be shut down under animal welfare. Rabbits kept in appalling dirty cramped conditions. It could be so nice with proper management and animal husbandry. Something needs to be done, once visited you won't go back.
We arrived to an almost empty carpark and unwelcoming entrance. On arrival greeted by I think the only person on duty within shop, admissions and coffee shop. When asked if I had been before, I had about 15 years ago. "well its not changed much" was the answer, and boy was he right. Meaning I dont think there had been any maintenance in those 15 years. Very rundown, I was quite embarassed about taking my son and grandaughter there. Will not return.
We go here very often our children love it :0)
