  • Beautiful small monastery. Relatively well preserved. You get an impression of how the monks ' sleeping quarters, and went to the toilet at night, how they took care of their sacristy and gradually the monastery had taken (new refectory, new outbuildings), how they lived and worked on the land in all simplicity, because this was not a rich monastery. What really special, is the old baked tile floor that can still be seen-tiles from 1250! Also the small-scale context is very suggestive. A small valley that the spirit of Sint Bernardus has well preserved!

  • Unusual in that it is more than just the ruined remains of an abbey. Some buildings are quite complete and some sympathetically restored. Gives a good idea of how the monks lived and how the community changed over time.
  • Such a calming place. The abbey is eerily beautiful and it's incredible what has survived there! A really good morning spent here its a must see. :)
