The Mill Garden, Warwick
(4.6/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
The Mill Garden is a private garden adjacent to Warwick Castle measuring half an acre open to the public and situated on the bank of the River Avon in Warwick, Warwickshire, England. It is owned by Julia Measures, whose family has owned the gardens since 1938 and whose father Arthur worked on it for 60 years. Its informal planting to highlight picturesque river views has made this garden renowned among the United Kingdom's garden enthusiasts. The stone bridge visible from the garden once carried most of the traffic to Warwick over the River Avon but the bridge now lies in ruins. When the castle was being constructed the garden was often used as a stonemasons yard. It is not uncommon to see swans nesting near the garden.

  • Charming gardens packed with interesting plants in an unforgettable setting. We watched the firing of the Trebuchet in the Castle grounds from this riverside garden - it was amazing - happens at 3:30pm daily apparently, though worth checking when you pay your £2.50 entry fee
  • We love this place! If your looking for somewhere to relax in a truly tranquil environment with great views of the Castle then check out the Mill Garden in Mill Street Warwick.
  • Beautiful riverside garden with great views of Warwick Castle. Part of the National Gardens Scheme and well worth the £2.50 entrance fee.
  • very nice place; good for visiting and relaxing. If you're nearby, you can visit this place. Also, plants and plant seeds available for buying
  • Lovely little garden. It's in the surrounding ground of the castle and has lovely views. Nice variety of plants and some ice benches to sit on and enjoy the views. Perfect place to sit down and enjoy your packed lunch, perhaps. Also the staff are friendly and were more than happy to let us leave and return etc. Only downside is that it's a little small. But that makes it quite quaint. See the photo-sphere I took by dragging the little orange google street view man onto the photo-spot in the garden.
