The parish, which includes Wadeford and Scrapton, has a population of 1,373.HistoryAt the time of the Domesday Book the manor was held by Bishop Gisa. The parish was known as Combe Episcopi until the dedication of the church to St Nicholas in 1239.GovernanceThe parish council has responsibility for local issues, including setting an annual precept (local rate) to cover the council’s operating costs and producing annual accounts for public scrutiny.
